With no fewer than FOUR experienced supervisors to keep his nose to the grindstone, Active Fork Lift Service’s new apprentice Daniel Robinson is sure of thorough training in all the practical aspects of forklift mechanics.

Daniel joined Active Fork Lift Services in December 2001, straight after Year 12 at Pine Rivers High School.

He is currently working through a four-year TAFE course in light vehicle mechanics.

A typical day holds a variety of tasks: fixing brakes or shoes on a fork-lift watched by exacting taskmasters, driving around to pick up or drop off parts, back to doing a full service.

He doesn’t get away with much, thanks to his four mentors, but doesn’t seem to mind.

“I enjoy learning and fixing things,” he said. “I love it.”
